NE Alliance at Buckpool postponed: Nine-hole

competition alternative at Paul Lawrie Golf Centre

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Tomorrow's North-east Alliance fixture at Buckpool Golf Club has been postponed because of the wintry conditions and bad weather forecast.
Secretary Michael MacDougall was unable to find a suitable alternative venue which was not using winter greens and was not affected by frost.
"Buckpool had already had some snow today and the overnight forecast is for more snow and low temperatures," said Michael.

But the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre nine-hole, par-3 course at Ardoe on the South Deeside Road will be used to stage a nine-hole event with two shotgun starts, the first at 10.45am and the second at 12.45.
"This competiton is really just a chance for everyone to get together for a meet.  It will not count towards Order of Merit points, etc.  The forecast is for low overnight temperatures and if we do get snow it could all be in vain.......but here's hoping the forecast is wrong."

There is a restaurant at the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre for those who wish something to eat either before or after their golf.
