Kris Nicol and Terry Mathieson have both shot under 59 in NE Alliance fixtures
By Colin Farquharson
Reference Gordon Munro's brilliant score of five-under-par 59 at Inverallochy today in the first North-east Golfers' Alliance fixture of the year.
I said in a footnote to my report that I was pretty sure it was not the lowest score ever record in the Alliance's history and Dave Wilson, former joint secretary, and player Terry Mathieson have confirmed this in Emails to me.
Dave remembers that Kris Nicol had a 57 or 58 over the Montrose Links winter course about five years ago.
Terry says that he had a 58 at Inverallochy, "some time ago but guessing it was 2005."
