Duddingston trio struggle in European Men's 

Club Trophy opening day in France

Edinburgh's Duddingston Golf Club trio of Conor Scott, John Shepherd and Gordon Milligan, had a disappointing first day as Scotland's representatives in the European Men's Club Trophy tournament at Golf du Medoc Resort in France.
As a team, with a 18-hole total of 160, the Scots are lying 24th of 25 counties with only Kazakhstan (164) below them in the table.
Scott and Shepherd both scored 80 over the par-71 course.
RCF La Boulie, France's representatives, are setting the pace with three-under 139, one shot ahead of Ireland's Galway Golf Club trio.
England's City of Newcastle GC trio are joint seventh on 144 while Wales' Pennard team are 18th on 153.
F Lacroix (France) is the individual leader with a four-under 67.
Scott and Shepherd both shot counting rounds of 80 and start the second round in joint 54th position. Gordon Milligan was the non-counter with a 96. He is placed 75th.
