Daniel proves the real McCoy in Eden 

Trophy final at St Andrews

Daniel McCoy, a member of Houldsworth Golf Club, Cheshire, won the Eden Trophy annual men's tournament at the St Andrews venue today.
He beat Steven Lane (Worcestershire Golf Club) by 2 and 1 in the 18-hole final.
McCoy was 15th of the 64 qualifiers for the match-play stages with Lane 48th at the end of the two stroke-play qualifying rounds that started the week.
McCoy beat joint leading qualifier Jack Hawksby, from Millbrook GC, Bedfordshire, by 1 hole in the morning semi-finals while Lane squeezed through at the 19th against Jamie Melton (Nuneaton).
The handicap competition for the Eden Tankard was won by Jake Heron from Ramside GC, Durham. He won by 3 and 2 in the final against Charles Burton (Halifax Bradley Hall). Heron plays off three and Burton nine.
