Eric McIntosh in the mix at the Carris Trophy

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Scottish U18 boys champion Eric McIntosh (Bruntsfield Links) is in joint fourth place, only four shots off the pace, as he enters the two rounds of the English U18 boys' open amateur stroke-play championship for the Carris Trophy at West Sussex Golf Club.
McIntosh has had rounds of 66 and 68 for a two-under-par tally of 136.
Italy's Julien Paltrinieri from Verona leads by three strokes with scores of 64 and 66 for 130.
John Paterson (St Andrews New) is T9 on 136 (66-70) and Darren Howie (Peebles), the only other Scot in the huge field, is T35 with rounds of 67 and 73 for 140. He made the cut comfortably.
