Deeside make winning start to Junior Pennant Championship
Deeside won their first match of the Aberdeen and District Junior Pennant 2017 championship, sponsored by the Paul Lawrie Foundation.
Playing at home, they beat Banchory 5-0 at the Bieldside course.
Banchory had difficulty in fielding a full team of players and had to concede the last two matches.
Deeside's winners were Nicholas Black and Jason Bruce (2 and 1), Cameron Imrie and Ross Nicholson (4 and 3) and Michael Black and Kirsten Watson (3 and 2).
RESULTS:
DEESIDE 5, BANCHORY 0
Nicholas Black and Jason Bruce bt Ben Read and Lewis Rodger 2 and 1.
Cameron Imrie and Ross Nicholson bt Sam Craig and Fraser Strachan 4 and 3.
Michael Black and Kirsten Watson bt Angus Williamson and Sandy Shepherd 3 and 2.
Games 4 and 5 were conceded by Banchory to Deeside as they were unable to field full pairings in these ties.
