NEWS RELEASE
Charity will be the winner when the D F Communications Business Golf League tees off at Trump International Golf Links, Balmedie in April.
The long-running competition provides North-east firms with the opportunity to network, gain new contacts and establish relationships with others from a variety of business sectors, as well as raise money for a good cause.
D F Communications, an award-winning mobile phone and communications specialist to small, medium and large businesses, is the organiser of the league for a sixth consecutive year.
The launch event will see teams play their first fixture at Trump International Golf Links at Balmedie, and firms are being urged to sign up quickly before the 36 spaces are booked.
Matches will be held over three days at the prestigious course – Tuesday to Thursday, April 18, 19 and 20.
The remaining fixtures will then be played at different courses across the North-east, culminating in a finals day in September. The Business Golf League is played in a four-ball format with teams split into groups. The winners and runners-up from each division then qualify for the finals day held at a course yet to be announced.
Craig Forsyth, Sales Director at Aberdeen-based DF Communications, said: “We’re delighted to announce the official launch of the 2017 Business Golf League and we’re thrilled to be working with Trump International Golf Links, Scotland to stage the first round of fixtures at the magnificent course.
“The format of the league allows for fantastic networking between firms, giving delegates the chance to make new contacts and build positive relationships.
“Times are challenging for many businesses across Aberdeen city and shire and it’s important we stick together and support each other. The Golf League is a great opportunity for local firms to do just that and boost their business throughout 2017.
Chris Turner, Head of Sales and Membership at Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, said: “We’re excited to be hosting the launch of the 2017 DF Communications Business Golf League.
“The long-running competition is a fantastic way for businesses to come together, learn about one another and establish long and fruitful relationships.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming all players to our world-class links and hope everyone enjoys this great opportunity to network in a unique and relaxed setting.”
Teams of between two and four named players can enter the league at a cost of £219+VAT. This includes the fee to play at Trump International Golf Links, Scotland for each team’s opening fixture.
Last year’s tournament was won by Stuart Thom and Roy Strachan, of Santander Corporate and Commercial, at the Castle Course at St Andrews. The event raised £800 for MND Scotland which supports those affected by motor neurone disease.
The overall winner nominates the charity to be supported the following year. The 2017 league will support the Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children (SNAC) as chosen by the winning Santander team.
Any businesses interested in taking part should contact Craig Forsyth or Iain Powell at golf@dfcommunications.com or call 01224 588844.
