NEW LOOK TO ABERDEEN LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR

This year's Aberdeen Links Championship will be an historic one in the tournament's long history. For the first time, entry will not be restricted to the three links-based clubs: Bon Accord, Caledonian and Northern.


The competition will be open to members of all the other Aberdeen Pennant League clubs - Auchmill, Banchory, Craibstone, Deeside, Hazlehead, Murcar Links, Nigg Bay, Peterculter, Portlethen, Newmachar, Royal Aberdeen and Stonehaven

 There will be only one stroke-play qualifying round.  The match-play stages will be completed within eight days. The scratch and two handicap finals will be played on a Sunday instead of the traditional Friday evening.
The programme will be:
Friday, June 9 Senior stroke-play championship first round.
Saturday, June 10 Links championship and Murray Cup qualifying round.
Sunday, June 11 Match-play: Links championship, Handicap Shield, Murray Cup
Wednesday, June 14 Match-play quarter-finals.
Friday, June 16 Match-play semi-finals; Senior stroke-play championship second round.
Sunday, June 18 Match-play finals: Championship (12.00), Handicap Shield (11.45), Murray Cup 11.30). Presentation of trophies in Caledonian clubhouse at 4.30pm.
