Duncan Stewart misses cut by two shots in

Aussie PGA Championship

Duncan Stewart missed the halfway cut in the Australian PGA Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort on Queensland's Gold Coast today.
The Grantown on Spey man had rounds of 73 and 75 for 148 and missed the cut by two strokes.
Blairgowrie's Bradley Neil (72-71) and Aberdeen-born Michael Sim (69-74) are tied 52nd on 143 - one shot better than Ross Kellett (71-73) on 144.
Best placed Scot is Stephen Gallacher in joint 17th position on 141.
Ian Poulter, making a comeback after several weeks on the sidelines, is T11 on 140.
Australasian players are dominating the leading places with Andrew Dodt the leader on 12-under 132 with rounds of 65 and 67.
He leads by two shots from fellow Aussie Ashley Hall (65-69) on 134.
New Zealander Ryan Fox (67-69) and Australian ace Adam Scott (68-68) are joint third on 136.

Key quotes
Andrew Dodt: “I hit the green on the last, but unfortunately rushed my first putt first and then missed the one coming back. So it was a frustrating way to finish because I really wanted to go bogey-free today, but it wasn’t to be and I’m not going to beat myself up about it too badly.
“The job’s only half done, so I need to keep in the same mind-set that I’ve had for the first two days. As I said to you all yesterday, I’d rather score well than hit it well, but today both elements combined so I’m obviously really happy with the state of my game.”
Ashley Hall: “I got off to a good start. I actually had it in my head that if I could shoot something in the 60s again today, that would be a good result. I was cruising along before I hit a little speed hump on the fourth, but I got it back in the end so I got what I set out to do.
“I hit it right off the fourth tee. It was a pretty bad shot actually. It hit the cart path and ended up in the hazard. I took a drop backwards to try to hit it over the tree and ended up in the bunker, then three-putted from there.”

Adam Scott: “That’s the best I’ve played in a couple of weeks and it was a good day to do it, because it wasn’t that easy.  It was probably the same as the guys had yesterday afternoon, but hitting most of the greens made it fairly stress-free for me today.
Harold Varner III: “The double bogeys weren’t fun, but the other holes were. It’s a good place, I like it here. It’s real nice to be in some heat since it’s so cold back home. I’m just enjoying myself, and it helps that my caddie’s from Melbourne. It’s good to be here, we’re having a great time and have made a few trips to the casino, so it’s all good.”
Ian Poulter: “That was a little strange morning call, I think a 3.30am alarm to come out and play golf is a touch on the early side. At least it was light, so we could get out there, but it’s just an unusual feeling. I didn’t manage to get any jetlag at all flying from America, but my tee time has managed to give me jetlag. It’s kind of an unusual situation, but I guess there’s a first for everything.
“I don’t ever remember an alarm going off at any time in the threes for a tee off time in the last 17 years, so it’s definitely a first and the body clock is not 100% on time. But it’s just a number, I guess.
"I was in bed at 6.45pm last night trying to go to sleep, watched telly for a little while and managed to fall asleep so it wasn’t too bad. But I’ll certainly be having a nap this afternoon.”
