David Law only Scot to survive cut at Irish

Challenge Tour venue

FROM EUROPEAN CHALLENGE TOUR WEBSITE
Stiggy Hodgson battled the elements to card a two under par round of 70 and take a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Volopa Irish Challenge hosted by Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort.

The Englishman overcame high winds and torrential rain during his second round at Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort to pick up three birdies on his way to signing for his second successive 70.
The 26 year old, who represented Great Britain and Ireland in the 2009 Walker Cup, is four under par overall and sits one ahead of overnight leader Sam Walker and Wales’s Rhys Enoch.
It was not a good day for the Scots. Aberdonian David Law (pictured) was the only one to survive the cut with rounds of 71 and 76 for 147, one shot inside the limit mark.
In all 10 Scots were on the wrong side of 148 with amateur left-hander Robert MacIntyre from Oban missing out by only one shot with 79-70 for 149.
