Edmond fails in bid for record-equalling fifth Aberdeen Links 

Championship, beaten 3 and 2 by Barry Reid in final

Barrie Edmond (Bon Accord) failed tonight to achieve a record-equalling fifth Aberdeen Links Championship. He was beaten 3 and 2 in the final by another former champion, Barry Reid (Caledonian) by 3 and 2.
Edmond won the title in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015. Others who have won it four times are Ronnie Grant,Donald Jamieson and Alex Reid.
But only one man has been Aberdeen Links champion five times - Jack Booth between 1947 and 1952.

Liam Minty (Northern) (4) bt David Oliver (4) (Caledonian) (4) 3 and 2
Murray Cup
Jack Forrest  (Northern) (12) bt G Mackie (Caledonian) (11) 5 and 4.
