European men's mid-am championship cut

to two rounds because of rain

The European men's mid-amateur championship has been reduced from the scheduled 54 holes to two rounds because of prolonged rain at the Karlovy Vary venue in the Czech Republic.
Today, the organisers managed get the first round completed.
The second/final round will be played on Saturday.
Bryan Fotheringham (Forres) completed a one-under-par 71 on Thursday and he remained in third place, two off the pace, after all the first rounds had been completed.
Clubmate Robert McKerron, halted after nine holes (out in 46) on Thursday, came back in a creditable 39 for an 85 but he missed the cut by six strokes.
Fotheringham and McKerron were the only Scots in the field of 140.
