Manchester student Josef Loughlin wins 

Virginia McCoy Intercollegiate

PARKVILLE, Missouri – The Bethany College, Kansas  men's golf team raced out of the gates to take a 22 shot lead after the first round of the Virginia McCoy Intercollegiate at the National Golf Club. 
 Josef Loughlin, pictured right, a third-year student from Manchester, led the way with a first place finish after two play-off holes.
The Bethany women's team finished in fifth place at the same tournament.
Loughlin had rounds of 74 and 78 to finish with a tournament total of 152. Loughlin was tied with Nick Anderson after the tournament had completed, so the two started in a play-off.
It took two holes, but Loughlin came away with the win, and claimed first place.
Olly Rubenstein, a third-year Bethany College student from Sheffield,  claimed third place, just a few shots behind his team-mate. 
Rubenstein, pictured below, started the tournament with a round of 76 and then shot a 79 to finish with a 155.
Josh Meeks from Warrington  finished in a tie for fourth place. He started with an 83, but rebounded to shoot a team low 73 for a two round total of 156.
 Bethany College's Scott Farrall from Conwy, North Wales took ninth place after having rounds of 83 and 76.
 Lewis Blair from Leighton Buzzard was in a tie for tenth at the end of the tournament after rounds of 82 and 78 for a total of 160.
Aspen Bryant finished in a tie for fifth place on the women's side of the tournament. She had a first round of 84 and followed with an 88. Lexi Pauls was tied for 17th palce after a round of 88 and a round of 100. Arianna Bryant shot rounds of 96 to finish in 19th place. Rachel Meyer had rounds of 109 and 105 to finish in 41st
