Cormac Sharvin turns pro and signs for IMG
NEWS RELEASE
IMG
announced today that Northern Ireland’s Cormac Sharvin has turned
professional and signed with the company for worldwide management and
marketing representation.
The
talented 23-year-old graduate of Stirling University joins the professional ranks after a distinguished
amateur career, which saw him rise as high as No. 14 in the World
Amateur Golf Rankings, as well as win the Irish Amateur Close
Championship, the prestigious 2015
English Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship and the BUCS Student Tour
Grand Final.
To cap his amateur career, he represented Great Britain
and Ireland in the 2015 Walker Cup, posting a perfect winning record
through his three matches.
No stranger to the professional circuit, Sharvin has already been featured in two events on the European Challenge Tour,
but will make his professional debut at this week’s 2016 Oates
Vic Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia, having received a special
tournament invitation.
