Carnoustie amateur Robertson wins Midland
Alliance at windy Arbroath
Carnoustie one-handicapper Scott Robertson won the first Midland Golfers' Alliance of the year with a one-over-par 69 in a gale at Arbroath links. He won the top scratch prize by one shot from Montrose Links assistant professional Graeme Brown.
Edzell amateur Bill Taylor was third with a 71.
Robertson also had the lowest net score 68 but a competitor cannot win both prizes
Therefore, Graham Milne, who plays off six at Aberdour, and Dennis Redford, an 11-handicap member at Murrayshall, tied for first place in the handicap returns, both scoring net 69s.
