Gunn performance at Web.com Tour Final Q

School could be affected by Granny's illness

Dornoch exile Jimmy Gunn has other things on his mind than his bid to regain full playing rights on the Web.com Tour in America.
His grandmother is seriously ill and the danger is that it affects his concentration at the tour's Qualifying School Final Tournament at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida from December 10 to 13.
Gunn's mother Wendy says:
"Jimmy was delighted to be the joint winner with a 13-under-par total in the Q School Stage 2 tournament at Beaumont, California. That gives him back his Web.com Tour membership but how many tournaments of its 2016 schedule he gets into will be decided by how high he finishes in the four-round Florida finale.
"However, as a family, we are having a difficult time at the moment. My Mum is terminally ill and very poorly. Jimmy desperately wants to come home but she hassaid he must carry on with his golf. He is due home for Christmas but, sadly, it's looking like she may not be with us by then.
"So, sad times for us all but particularly for Jimmy. He is very family orientated and was extremely upset when I spoke to him on the telephone last night. "I just hope it doesn't affect his play too much. It will take much strength for him to get through it."
Gunn was leading amateur in the Northern Open before he turned pro in 2007 and decided to campaign on the satellite tours in America with a view to making it to the US PGA Tour eventually. He will be 36 next July.
