Scottish Senior Golfing Society Spanish Festival

Day 1 - First Round Doubles

A beautiful sunny day greeted the participants in Monday's opening competitive round where 28 teams of two played better-ball around the challenging  and well-presented Hacienda Del Alamo, Murcia track.
The local pair of  Allen and Higgins recorded an impressive nett 63.5 (gross 74),

Scratch honours at the halfway stage are shared by the pairings of Craw/Will and Bruce/Jeen on 4-under par 68. The second and final round (greensomes) will be played on Friday

Day 2 - First Round Singles
The day got off to a very unfortunate start as Gordon and Heather MacDonald had to return to Scotland after hearing that Heather's mother had taken ill.. 

Once more scoring was low and lowest of all with a 2-under par 70 was Nick Robson (Meldrum House)

Defending champion Ian Brotherston, however is not about to hand over the trophy quite yet as he is tucked behind on 71
 Other notable scratch scores included fine 73s by Rob Craw and Muir Townsley

On the net front, leading the way after the first round, all with a net score of 71, are
Craw, Townsley, Robson and A. Ross.


Day 3- Second day of Singles

Highlight of the day was Andy Campbell's fine 71 followed closely by Nick Robson on 73 then Rob Craw and the consistent Muir Townsley on 74.


Best net scores of the day were:

70 - Andy Campbell
71- Mike Pearce
72- Rob Craw, Muir Townsley, Andy Ross, Stewart Drysdale and Alan Harrington


Going into the final day of the singles on Thursday the leaders are

149- Andy Campbell
Net
139 - Andy Ross
