JOEL HOPWOOD REPORTING
Kris Nicol (Paul Lawrie Foundation) has won the 2015 Scottish Alliance Championship. Nicol's two under par total of 202 was good enough to win by two at a tough Duff House Royal. The course was playing extremely long over the past three days due to the recent wet weather and Nicol was the only player to finish under par.
Prior to the final round Nicol (Paul Lawrie Foundation), Greg McBain (Paul Lawrie Foundation) and Duncan Stewart (Turnhouse) all shared the lead but Nicol was able to produce a final round of, one under par, 67 to McBain and Stewart's rounds of 72 and 69 respectively.
Challenge Tour player Stewart, from Grantown-on-Spey, earned £900 for finishing runner-up, two behind the winner on 204.
Three players tied for third place on 207 - Neil Henderson (Renaissance), McBain and John Duff (Newmachar). They eached earned £500.
PENNYCOTT WINS AMATEUR SCRATCH
Malcolm Pennycott (Royal Burgess) shot a final round 68 (level par) to see off the challenge from Royal Aberdeen's Nick Macandrew - the two tied for the lead going into the final round but Nick's final round of 71 fell just short of the Royal Burgess man's 4 over par winning total.
Pennycott won the £500 voucher as leading amateur and Clydesdale Bank Quaich winner.
WITHER WINS AGAIN
George Wither (Duddingston) won the senior scratch prize, over 36 holes, with a total of 151 - beating David Fleming (Portlethen) by a single shot. This is the 6th, consecutive time, Wither has won this prize - an impressive feat.
