By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Westhill Golf Club's popular professional George Bruce's 21 years at the club are being marked by the members holding a testimonial season as a thank you for his loyalty and exceptional service.

One of the main events is a pro-am at the club on Wednesday this week.
Eighteen members' teams of three partnering mainly North-east club professionals have entered.
PGA in Scotland captain Stewart Syme (Drumoig) will also attend the event.
On Friday, October 16,  there will be a testimonial dinner in the Holiday Inn, Westhill with Marriott Dalmahoy professional Alan Tait, renowned for his after-dinner entertainment, the main guest speaker.
Mhorvan Sherrett is chairman of the George Bruce testimonial season  committee.
"George is an 'Insch loon, and started his pro career as an assistant at Ballater but very quickly came under Ronnie McDonald's wing as an assistant at Westhill. When Ronnie moved on, George took over as Westhill's club pro, and he  has been here ever since, although he doesn't look a day older than the  day he arrived at Westhill," said Mhorvan.
"George is sponsored by Wilson Staff who are also supporting the event."
George Bruce says he is not about to retire - "I'm good for another 21  years!"
"I was only 16 when I started my PGA apprenticeship with Fraser Mann at Ballater and I consider myself very lucky to have a had job I've enjoyed so much.
"The members have been great to me over my 21 years at Westhill, the last 17 of which I have been the club pro, and I cannot thank them enough for organising a testimonial season for me."
