Swede wins Lytham Trophy by 8 shots with

Walker cup candidates down the field

The Lytham Trophy has gone overseas again with Sweden's Marcus Kinhult winning the prestigious title - and in a Walker Cup year! - by eight strokes with a level par aggregate of 280 at Royal Lytham and St Annes, Lancashire.
On a bad-weather weekend when the CSS was up in the high 70s, Kinhult took advantage of some tee tees when the conditions were not quite as bad as others to post scores of 68, 69, 71 and 72.
At one stage he led by nine shots over the Open championship venue links.
Stirling student and former Irish amateur champion Cormac Sharvin (Ardglass) finished in a triple tie for second place on 288 with Wales' Richard James (Aberyswyth) and Frenchman Robin Roussel..
Leading home-based Scot was British amateur champion Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie) in ninth place on 293 - two shots ahead of Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barasse), Scott Gibson (Southerness) and another Stirling student, Swiss international Mathias Eggenberger.
