SIX SCOTS QUALIFY FOR NORTHERN 

OPEN MATCH-PLAY IN SOUTH AFRICA
 
Six of the te Scots in the South African Northern Open amateur golf championship field are among the leading 32 qualifiers for the match-play stages at Randpark Golf Club, writes Colin Farquharson
Ewen Ferguson (Bearsden) is the second seed with rounds of 71, 69, 72 and 67 for a nine-under par aggregate of 279, despite a double bogey 7 at the long third in his final round
He finished two shots behind the leading qualifier, South African Herman Loubser (70-71-69-67 for 277).
Jamie Savage (Cawder) is the No 3 match-play seed with an aggregate of 280 (74-69-67-70).
Other Scottish qualifiers were Greig Marchbank (Thornhill) 284, Scott Gibson (Southerness) 286, Craig Ross (Kirkhill) 289 and Daniel Young (Craigie Hill) 289.
The Scots who did not make it after playing four rounds were Ben Kinsley (St Andrews) 293, Calum Fyfe (Cawder) 293 and Murray Naysmith (Marriott Dalmahoy) 300.
Connor Syme (Dumfries and Co) was eliminated after first and second rounds of 78-72 for 151
