ROSS KELLETT JOINS PAUL LAWRIE STABLE

PAUL LAWRIE FOUNDATION NEWS RELEASE
The Paul Lawrie Foundation is delighted to announce that Ross Kellett has joined our group of supported professional golfers.
In addition to financial backing, to assist with the costs of competing, Foundation-supported players have personal access to Paul and can rely on his advice and vast experience to assist them as they make their way in the paid ranks.

Ross, pictured, gained his playing rights on the Challenge Tour in 2013, following a season finding his feet on the Alps Tour - one of the third-tier feeder tours.

His victory in the Italian Montecchia Open, which helped him to secure the top five spot necessary for graduation, was particularly notable since it happened the same week as the Aberdeeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Castle Stuart - he'd turned down a sponsors' invitation from Aberdeen in order to concentrate his efforts on the Alps' Order of Merit.
"I realised where my playing rights lay and didn't allow myself to get sidetracked by trying to also play Challenge Tour and European Tour events".
Paul was impressed by Ross during a recent event in Portugal, organised by the Foundation to give a number of Scotland's up-and-coming talents the opportunity to practise and compete against one another during the enforced winter lay-off at home.

A Colville Park Golf Club member as an amateur, the former Scottish international  and a member of  Scotland's 2009 men's European team championship-winning squad showed a level of dedication and maturity that chimed with Paul's own ethic for hard work and determination to succeed.
Kellett, who hails from Motherwell and is also supported by Paul's long-standing sponsor, Aberdeen Asset Management as well as the Blue Group, fell just shy of full playing-rights on Europe's secondary Tour for the season ahead.

His current ranking will give him in the region of eight to 10 automatic starts on the Challenge Tour.
Ross joins the likes of David Law, Greg McBain and Laura Murray who also receive support from the Foundation.
Kellett added:
"In addition to the financial support that the Foundation provides, to have the ability to contact Paul on anything golf related is invaluable.

"Paul is a class act on and off the course and to join his stable of supported players is a real honour.
"Being able to access the excellent facilities at the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre whenever I'm up in the North-east is also a fantastic benefit to my overall game.  I'm excited to get going with the season ahead."
