MATTHEWS LEADS BY ONE AT 

HALFWAY IN DIXIE AMATEUR

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida  — Brandon Matthews, who posted a 6-under 66 to open the 83rd Dixie Amateur tournament on Friday, cooled off a bit on Saturday. Matthews continues to lead at 6-under-par 138 at Heron Bay Golf Club, however, after posting even par 72 for the day.
But he is now only one shot ahead of Anthony Gabrielle on 139 (70-69) with Drew Czuchry third on 140 (67-73) and Max de Craeker fourth on 141 (69-72) at the halfway stage.

The Dixie Amateur is a 72 hole golf tournament for which the entry 

fee is $450.  The first three  rounds are played at Heron Bay Golf 

Club.  There is a 54 hole cut 

and the final round will be played at TPC Eagle Trace.  Players who 

do not make the 54 hole cut are automatically entered in the 

ClubLink Cup on the final day at Heron Bay Golf Club. 

The ClubLink Cup is an 18 hole tournament benefiting Birdies for 

the Brave.
