HOME WIN ON ALGARVE PRO TOUR



One of the 27 holes at Palmares Golf Club, Lagos on Portugal's Algarve coastline. A new, five-star hotel will be built at the course next year.
SCOTS TRIO FINISH OUT OF THE 

MONEY AT PALMARES

Scots Jay Taylor, Ted Innes-Ker and Mark Hillson finished outwith the top 10 prizelist in this week's Algarve Pro Tour's 36-hole competition at the Palmares course near Lagos.
Taylor and Innes-Ker were joint 12th on 148, Taylor with rounds of 78-70, Innes-Ker with 76-72.
Hillson finished joint 19th on 151 (75-76).
Portugal's Tiago Cruz won the first prize of £1,500 with scores of 72 and 66 for six-under 138 - five shots ahead of joint runners-up Craig Farrelly (England) (77-66) and Rhodri Fieldhouse (Wrexham, Wales) (73-70). They each earned £850.

Farrelly did well to recover from a quadruple bogey 9 at the par-5 13th in his first round. His bogey-free second round of 66 contained birdies at the sixth, ninth, 13th, 15th, 16th and 18th.
