WINS T C JORDAN TROPHY

A record number so far this season of 105 players enjoyed a well presented course at Musselburgh Golf Club on Wednesday to contest the T C Jordan Trophy. Sympathy goes to the last couple of groups who fought well to deal with the daylight that was fast reducing as they headed up the 18th hole.

The season so far has seen Elliot and Lloyd Saltman secure the trophies and early on it looked like Elliot, after his recent EuroPro Tour win, might secure more silverware with a three-under-par 68

but local man Phil Leggatte had other ideas by posting a net 67 (75 less 8) to claim the T C Jordan Trophy.

On the scratch front Elliot Saltman secured the top prize with his 68, just one shot ahead from brother Lloyd on 69 along with Zander Culverwell (Dunbar) also on 69 - the trio just back from their valiant efforts in Q School in Spain last week.

Leggate secured the top handicap prize comfortably with his net 67. Three players shared second place on net 71 - David Brydon (Torwoodlee) (76 lees 5), David Jeffrey (Whitekirk) (80 less 9) and Kevin Murphy (Gifford) (75 less 4).

Senior top prize was also divided three ways with net 73s  via - Derek Jervis (Prestonfield) ( 82 less 9), Jimmy Rankeillor (Baberton) (84 less 11) and George Wither (Duddingston ( 75 less 2 ).

Trainee top prize went to Gordon Hillson  on 71. Local assistant Cameron Marr finished second  on 72.
