DUNBAR MAN LEADS THE SCOTTISH PROS AT KHAIMAH CLASSIC


AMATEUR DANNY KAY LEADING SCOT

ON MENA TOUR EVENT IN DUBAI

Dunbar amateur Danny Kay is the leading Scot after rounds of 70 and 69 for five-under 139 in this week's MENA Tour event, the 54-hole Ras Al Khaimah Classic at Tower Links Golf  Club, Dubai.
Kay, pictured with the South-east District Open championship trophy he won a month or two ago, is one of five players sharing fifth place, only a shot behind the quartet of co-leaders, Ahmed Almusharrekh (UAR), Toni Ferrer (Spain), Abdulrahman Sihag (UAR) and Peter Stojanoyski (Macedonia).
Portlethen rookie Sam Kiloh (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) is the next best Scot in joint 24th place on 143 (72-71).
Paul Doherty (Vale Hotel) has dropped back to a share of 40th place after a 75 for 145, the same total as ex-pat Tom Buchanan whose 68 was one of the lowest second-round scores.
Scots who failed to beat the cut at two-over 146 were Bothwell Castle amateur Jamie Steven (73-78 for 151), Simon Dunn (72-80 for 152) and Ted Innes Ker (75-78 for 153).
