FIRST WIN OF SEASON FOR BOTHWELL CASTLE PRO

TAYLOR AND CURRIE SHARE FIRST 

 

PLACE AT SANDYHILLS PRO-AM

Steven Taylor (Bothwell Castle) and Christopher Currie (Caldwell) shared first place in today's (Sunday) Sandyhills pro-am at the Glasgow club.

They both shot four-under-par 66s. Taylor got off to a flying start with an eagle 3 at the long first and followed that up with birdies at the fourth, fifth and eighth. That was the end of the sub-par figures but he dropped only one shot - at the 13th.

Currie had a bogey-free card studded with birdies at the first, fourth, sixth and 11th. It was his fourth win on the Tartan Tour this season in contrast to Taylor's first.

Both earned £1,198.

The finsihed a shot ahead of Stephen Gray (Hayston) and Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs) who earned £700 each.

Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) had a rare experience for him - he finished outwith the prizemoney with a 72.

Liam Neeson (World of Golf), who had an individual round of 79, nevertheless  led the winning trio of amateurs - Barry Donnelly (handicap 17), Dillon Donnelly (16) and Gary Somerville (11) - to victory with a net best-ball score of 15-under-par 55.
