TOP SEEDS BRADLEY NEIL, GRANT 

FORREST BEATEN IN QUARTERS 

Josh Jamieson, Chris Robb, Barry Hume and Graeme Robertson are through to this afternoon's semi-finals of the Fairstone Scottish amateur championship at Downfield.

Robertson, pictured, from Glenbervie beat the No 2 seed, Grant Forrest (Craigielaw) at the 22nd after being two down with four to play.
Earlier, the No 1 seed and British amateur champion Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie) was eliminated
Josh Jamieson (St Andrews New), winner of the Scottish U18 boys' open stroke-play title at Nairn Dunbar in 2011, is on the trail of another national championship - the Scottish amateur crown.Jamieson this morning beat the top seed, Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie), also holder of the British amateur title, by 3 and 2 in the quarter-finals.

Jamieson, pictured right, was two up at the turn and Neil could not pull him back.
In this afternoon's semi-finals, Jamieson,who will be starting a third year at Northwestern University, near Chicago, is  facing arguably the most in-form amateur in Scotland, Banchory's Chris Robb, a former Scottish schoolboys champion who played on the US college circuit for four years as a student at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
Winner of two SGU Order-of-Merit events this season and a past North-east District champion, Robb, a member at Meldrum House Golf Club, Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, was two up after 15 holes in his quarter-final against Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) and went on to clinch a 3 and 1 victory.
The tie had been all square after nine.
Reinstated amateur Barry Hume (Haggs Castle), winner of the Scottish title over this same Dundee course in 2001, swept into the last four with a 6 and 4 victory over Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie.
Hume was two up after seven and steadily went further ahead.
Barry's semi-final against the winner of the Robertson v Forrest tie will be delayed to give the winner a chance to have a bite and some refreshment and change his sweaty socks!
