JACKSON BELL JOINS CRAIGMILLAR

PARK STAFF: TURNING PRO IN JULY

NEWS UPDATE FROM SCOTT GOURLAY

CRAIGMILLAR PARK GOLF CLUB HEAD PROFESSIONAL

With the new season know well under way, a new Masters
Champion in Bubba Watson, Craigmillar Park Open Champion in
Craig Watson, and, as many members will know, we have a new
member of staff: Jackson Bell.
Jackson comes from a family of golfers, with uncle Kevin Whitson
head professional at
Royal County Down ,
cousin Reeve, Spanish
amateur champion,
and Jackson will be
turning professional in
July.
Jackson himself has
represented the
Lothians  teams at
numerous age levels
before going to join his
uncle for some valuable
experience at Royal County Down. He is starting his PGA course in
September and is looking forward to being part of the SGGT team
and forging a career in golf.

Trackman III

We are excited to announce the
arrival of a Trackman III
launch monitor at Craigmillar
Park Golf Club.
One of very few in the UK, this outdoor unit is the industry’s most accurate: measuring the golf swing and entire flight of the ball from impact to landing while displaying its 3D trajectory in real time. The first of its kind to measure the complete path of any shot, ranging from 6 foot pitches to 400-yard drives, TrackMan III pinpoints the landing position with an accuracy of 1 foot at 100 yards. All clubface, swing and ball flight data, from club speed to hang time, is illustrated and delivered in easy to understand format.

Case Study:

Emma

Emma Morrison came to
us with a standard Ladies
13 degree driver.
After an hour driver fitting session using Trackman, Emma left hitting the ball 28 yards longer through the air and 38 yards in total.
As seen in the screenshot the TaylorMade Jetspeed fitted with a Accra MT M3 50 gram shaft, produced a far straighter shot on average (side total). More importantly Emma is seeing real results on the golf course, commenting that the longer straighter ball flight is giving her more opportunities on the longer holes.
