GRAEME ROBERTSON SLUMPS OUT OF THIRD-ROUND LEAD TO TIE FOR SECOND

SCOTTISH CHAMPIONS' TITLE

Dollar's former Scottish youths champion Scott Borrowman won the Scottish Champion of Champions 72-hole title for the second year in a row over the Leven Golf Society's links in Fife today.
Borrowman, in the mix from the start of the traditional opening big tournament of the Scottish competitive calendar, started the final round in second place, two shots behind international team-mate Graeme Robertson (Glenbervie).
But Robertson surprisingly slumped to a five-over-par 76 - par 71, CSS 74 - on the final circuit for a four-round aggregate of six-under-par 278, having  broken 70 in each of his three earlier rounds.
Borrowman himself could not complete a fourth sub-70 round, having shot 69, 66 and 69 earlier, but a one-over 72 for 276 was good enough to win the prestigious title by two strokes from the fast finishing Scott Gibson (Southerness) whose one-under 70 was the best of the final round, and Kilmacolm's Matthew Clark, third with 18 holes to go, and the faltering Robertson.
Clark signed off with a 73 for 278
