ABERDEEN-BORN PRO MAKING A NAME FOR HIMSELF AS A JUNIOR COACH

DAVID POCOCK WINS ANOTHER PGA AWARD

Aberdonian golf professional David Pocock, a former assistant to Hamish Love at Oldmeldrum and now director of coaching with  Valleys Golf Enterprises in South Wales, has been named the PGA Development Pro of the Year.
He received his award this week from Peter Laugher, captain of Welsh PGA (pictured above).
It is the second award Pocock has won since moving to Wales in the summer of 2010 for his first club head pro post at Rhondda Valley GC, between Swansea and Cardiff.
The first was as Club Pro of the Year in Wales in December 2011 for his success in coaching juniors and getting youngsters to take up the game.
Golf is in David's genes. His uncle Mike Pocock has been president of the North-east District Association of the Scottish Golf Union and cousin Donna Pocock is an Aberdeenshire county player and past county champion.
