HIGHLANDER'S CLUTCH OF BIRDIES AFTER FIRST-HOLE BOGEY

GUNN MAKES LOUISIANA OPEN CUT

AFTER SECOND-ROUND 67

Jimmy Gunn may have turned the corner at last on the Web.com Tour by making the cut in this week's
Louisiana Open.
The Highlander, who is based at Scottsdale Arizona, shot 70-67 for a halfway tally of five-under-par 137 over the par-71 circuit.
Gunn beat the cut with a couple of shots to spare, three-under 139 being the cut-off point.
Gunn bogeyed the first hole but, unlike most of his earlier rounds this year, he bounced back with a clutch of birdies.
He birdied the short third, short sixth, long seventh, short 11th (that makes three 2s!) and the 13th.
After driving into rough at the last, he got down with a single putt to save his part.
Gunn qualified in joint 30thplace.
Englishman Greg Owen failed to make it with a pair of 70s for 140 - one shot too many.
