GERMAN PGA'S RED SEA CLASSIC

DAVID LAW SHOOTS NINE BIRDIES TO

START WITH A 66 IN EGYPT

David Law had a bulging bag of nine birdies in the first round of the German PGA's developmental tour event, the Red Sea Egyptian Classic at Sokhna Golf Club at Ain El Sokhna today (Tuesday).
The Aberdonian also had three bogeys which saw him finish the day with a six-under-par 66 (32-34), in joint second place, one shot behind the pacemaking Swiss player, Ken Benz.
Law's Paul Lawrie Golf Centre stablemates, Jordan Findlay from Fraserburgh and Peterhead's Philip McLean had contrasting fortunes.
Findlay had five birdies in a par-matching 72 (36-36). He also bogeyed four holes in a row from the fourth to the seventh and had another at the 10th. He is in joint ninth place.
McLean is back in joint 31st position in the field of 77 players. He had a 75 (38-37) after a shocking start which saw him have a double bogey 6 at the second and a triple bogey 6 at the short fourth.
A birdie at the short sixth and an eagle 3 at the long eight were followed by birdies at the 12th and 14th but McLean let it slip again close home with bogeys at the 15th and long 17th.
