Scots Neil Henderson and Paul McPhee ended the first round in joint 22nd and 39th place respectively in the Evolve Pro Tour event at El Valle Golf Club in the south-east of Spain.
Henderson had a three-over-par 74 and McPhee a 79.
Leading the field of 56 players by three shots is Englishman Jordan Gibb with a five-under-par 66
