TRUMP WILL NOT INVEST MORE BUT 

HE WILL KEEP MENIE ESTATE COURSE

Donald Trump's son has clarified the Trump Organisation's position over the development of his Menie Estate at Balmedie, 12 miles north of Aberdeen.

1 No more money will be invested in the Aberdeenshire project other than to keep the existing course operation.
2 The organisation is considering selling to a developer the land within the Menie Estate on which it had been planned to build  950 holiday homes and 500 houses plus a four-storey hotel and state-of-the-art clubhouse (there is a temporary clubhouse on site).
3 "The golf course is not for sale," said Donald Trump, junior. "It will remain part of the Trump portfolio of golf courses." The Trump Organisation own several in the United States, the best know being the "Blue Monster" Doral Resort.

Doonbeg Resort bought for £12.5million
Donald Trump junior was speaking in Ireland where the Trump Organisation has bought the Doonbeg Golf Resort out of Receivership for £12.5million.
Doonbeg, within Co Clare and easy reach of Shannon International Airport, had gone bust - overheads too high and income too low although no one has ever doubted that the five-star Doonbeg facility is first class.
"We did the deal to move to Ireland in six days. You can't tie your shoe laces in six days in Scotland," said the American tycoon's son.

Permission would be denied to developer seeking to building houses on Menie Estate 

Aberdeenshire county council leader Jim Gifford is adamant that permission would not be granted for the building of homes on Menie Estate if the Trump Organisation sold the land to a developer.
"He can do what he wants with the land he owns but he won't be selling it to build houses on because the houses are absolutely tied in to building the golf course, the clubhouse and the hotel," said Councillor Gifford.
"Donald Trump was never going to build these houses. Someone else was going to go in there and do that for him.
"But there is no way that they can build houses on the land as it's tied in to a progressive sequence of building. That was done specifically so that we didn't get 500 houses and nothing else."
