Greig Hutcheon and Paul Lawrie, friends for years
NEWS RELEASE
The
current Scottish PGA Champion and the highest ranked PGA Professional
in GB and I, Hutcheon will represent the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre which
is already home to the Paul Lawrie Foundation’s stable of eight
supported professionals who include Northern Open champion David Law, Philip McLean, Kris Nicol, Jordan Findlay, Laura Murray and Paul's son Craig.
NEWS RELEASE
The
dominant figure in domestic Scottish Professional Golf over the past
half-dozen or so seasons, Greig Hutcheon, has signed a deal with the
Paul Lawrie Golf Centre to represent the facility with a playing
attachment in 2014.

Greig
will play in a number of European and Challenge Tour events during the
2014 season thanks to his win in the PGA’s end-of-season finale event
(The PGA Play-Offs). In addition to starts in the BMW PGA Championship
at Wentworth, he will play in front of home crowds as the AAM Scottish
Open is staged, for the first time, at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club.
He
will also continue to compete on the Tartan Tour circuit throughout the
2014 season.
Paul
and “Hutch” have known one another for many years, having both played,
practiced and worked at Banchory Golf Club during their formative years
in the game.
Commenting
on Greig’s attachment Lawrie said: “Greig has long been the top player
on the domestic scene in Scotland. His consistency at the head of the
Tartan Tour Order of Merit over the last few years is evidence of this,
as are his performances in the European Tour events he’s gained entry to
– he consistently makes cuts and finishes well whenever the opportunity
arises.”
“Greig
is also brilliant with Pro-Am teams. Whenever he’s done days for us in
the past with clients and friends he always strikes the right balance,
making playing partners feel at ease whilst imparting some of the
knowledge he’s built-up over the years in the sport. He’ll be a great
addition to our personnel at the Centre.”
Greig,
for his part, was: “Honoured to be joining such a strong team of
Professionals at unquestionably one of the finest golfing establishments
in the country.”
He
will now make use of the facilities at the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre to
get his game prepared for the season that will begin in earnest for him
in April.
