THREE SHARE HONOURS IN DOWNFIELD PRO-AM

Aberdeen's Greg McBain (Gamola Golf), Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) and former Walker Cup player David Patrick (Kingsfield) shared the honours in the Discovery shotgun pro-am at Downfield Golf Club, Dundee today.
They all shot five-under-par 67s by differing routes. McBain was the most consistent scorer with halves of 34-33. Patrick came storming home in four-under 32 while McKechnie, who had an eagle 3 at the fourth, did his best work in an outward half of 32.
The trio earned £683 each.
They finished a shot ahead of fourth-placed Christopher Currie (Caldwell) who earned £375 for a 68 while West Linton Welshman Gareth Wright was fifth on 69 for a £300 payslip.
David Orr (Mearns Castle) led the Bank of Scotland Commercial amateur trio of Grant McBay (handicap 10), Angus Hay (5) and David Milne (14) to victory in the pro-am team event with an 18-under-par net score of 124.
