SALTMAN AND FENWICK HAVE CRACK AT £10,000 JACKPOT

Elliot Saltman and Neil Fenwick are in with a chance at winning the £10,000 jackpot prize in Friday'S final round of the PGA EuroPro Tour event, the Astbury Hall Classic at Asbury Hall Golf Club, Cheshire.

Saltman has shot 67-68 for five-under-par 135 and is lying second, one shot b ehind leader Dan Wait (Wisley) (66-68).

Fenwick shot a second-round 65 with six birdies for 137 and has three shots to make up over the final 18 holes.

Gavin Dear from Scone also shot a 65 in the second round with an eagle, six birdies and a double bogey. His total of 141 beat the cut with a shot to spare.

Malcolm Isaacs and Duncan Stewart both made it on the limit mark of 142, Isaacs with the help of birdies at the 14th and 17th, Stewart with a grandstand birdie-birdie finish.

Paul Shields missed out by one shot, despite a fine second-round 67 for 144.

Surprisingly, Greig Hutcheon, who does not play all that often on this tour, missed the cut by four shots with scores of 70-76.
