THOMSON, FOTHERINGHAM TIE AT ELGIN ALLIANCE

Moray's Kevin Thomson and Bryan Fotheringham (Inverness) shared the top scratch score honours with one-over-par 70s in Saturday's North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixure at Elgin Golf Club.
Playing in the second group of starters, Thomson did not get in among the birdies until he had three of them in a row from the 11th. He had bogeys at the first, fourth, sixth and 18th.
Fotheringham (Inverness), starting an hour later, bogeyed the first three holes, the 10th and 14th before almost cancelling them out with birdies at the 11th, 12th, 13th and 17th.
They finished a stroke ahead of third-placed John Campbell (Grantown) who won the Class 1 handicap top prize with a net 71 off scratch.
