BEN ECCLES WINS NSW AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
Ben Eccles, from the Australian state of Victoria, has won the 2013 NSW Amateur Championship at Royal Sydney Golf Club.
He scored a 2 and 1 victory in today's 36 hole final against Bonnie Doon's Troy Moses.
The young Victorian was never headed all day, in a very close contest where there was never more than three holes the difference. The contest was tightly contested, with Eccles only one up after 27 holes.
Victorian State players won both pieces of silverware, following Thomas Horan's win in the NSW Medal stroke-play qualifying tournament which produced the 32 qualifiers for the match-play.
