ISAACS LEADS BY FOUR AT ROYAL DORNOCH

Aberdeen-based Malcolm Isaacs is halfway to victory in the 36-hole Sandy Pipey Young Masters tournament at Royal Dornoch, writes Colin Farquharson. Now playing out of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, Isaacs forged four shots clear of the field with a brilliant round of four-under-par 66 over the world-ranked links. He shot seven birdies - at the short sixth, long ninth,11th, long 12th, short 13th, 16th and 18th - offset by three bogeys, at the first, eighth and 17th. A group of four share second place on level par 70 - Thomas Dingwall (Nairn Dunbar), Stuart Williamson (West Kilbride), Oliver Huish (North Berwick) and Keir McNicoll (Gullane). Williamson and Huish could have halved the amount of ground they have to make up over the second and final round. Both had double bogeys, Williamson a  6 at the 11th and Huish a a 6 at the 18th. Last year's winner, Martin Lawrence (Newmachar) is on the 73 mark.
