FIVE SCOTS GAIN Q SCHOOL PASSES TO STAGE 2 IN SPAIN
Five Scots gained pass marks through to Stage 2 in Spain from the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 eliminator at Roxburghe GC near Kelso today. They were Paul Cormack (Inchmarlo), who campaigns on the US satellite tours, and Tartan Tour journeymen Graham Fox (Rowallan Castle), Neil Fenwick (Dunbar), Craig Matheson (Falkirk Tryst) and Scott Henderson (Kings Links). Surprise non-qualifier was Banchory's Greig Hutcheon, clear leader of the Tartan Tour's money and order of merit tables. Only the top nine and ties qualified - Hutcheon finished tied 11th on 292, only a shot more than the Matheson and Henderson. At the Scottish venue, Irishmen filled the first two places and an English was third.
