SUDDENLY IT'S SUNNY JIM ! FURYK LEADS BY TWO AT HALFWAY IN BRIDGESTONE INVITATIONAL

Jim Furyk, pictured, has been fairly quiet all season. But the American has come into the limelight to set a cracking pace in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at the Firestone Country Club.
The man with the most unorthodox swing among the world's top players has shot 63-66 to lead by two shots on 11-under-par 129 at the end of play on the second day at Akron, Ohio.
His closest challenger is Spain's Rafael Cabrera-Bello with 66-65 for 131.
Former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen from South Africa is lying third on 132 after rounds of 67-65.
Northern Irishmen Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell moved up the leaderboard, but actually lost ground on Furyk, both shooting 67s over the par-70 course. They are on 137.
Martin Laird could do no better than a two-over 72 for 140, the same halfway tally as fellow-Scot Paul Lawrie could improved by four shots with a 68. Paul had a double bogey 6 in his first round.
Tiger Woods, like Martin Laird, shot a 72 and he is on 142.
New Open champion Ernie Els, who missed the cut in last week's Canadian Open, is on 146 after a pair of uninspired 73s.
And what on earth has happened to Tom Lewis, the Walker Cup player who did so well as an amateur and in his rookie year as a pro. Rounds of 78-76 for 154 suggest that something is far wrong somewhere, probably between his ears.
