PERTH PLAYER WINS CAMERON CORBETT VASE

DANIEL YOUNG with the Cameron Corbett  Vase at Haggs Castle Golf Club.

Perth player Daniel Young (Craigie Hill), home for the summer holidays from Lynn University, Bocan Raton in Florida, scored an impressive three-stroke win in the weather-reduced Cameron Corbett Vase SGU Order of Merit golf tournament at Haggs Castle Golf Club, Glasgow this evening (Sunday).
After the course was flooded on Saturday, the tournament was reduced from 72 to 36 holes with both rounds today (Sunday).
Young shot 68-65 for an 11 under par tally of 133, against the CSS of 72-71, to win by three shots from Alexander Culverwell (Dunbar) (69 67) and Paul Shields (Kirkhill) (66 70), both on 136.
Steven Rennie (Drumpellier) had a hole in one at the 11th in his first round during which he was four under par for the three short holes - 2 2 1. Funnily enough, if our information provider is correct, Rennie scored better in the afternoon when he had a 69, compared with his opening round of 74.
