RICHIE RAMSAY SIGNS SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH METROL TECHNOLOGY

NEWS RELEASE

Scottish golfer and South African Open winner Richie Ramsay has signed a sponsorship agreement with Metrol Technology, an international technology company with a strong research and development base in electronic and mechanical engineering.
Ramsay, from Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, won his maiden European Tour event in December 2009 when he secured victory at the South African Open.
He has since recorded a number of impressive results including 3rd place at the WGC – HSBC Champions in 2010, 4th place at the UBS Hong Kong Open in 2011 and 2nd place at the Ballantines Championships in 2012.
Ramsay had a glittering amateur career that included him winning the Irish Strokeplay Championship title in 2005 and gaining Walker Cup selection in the same year.  He then went on to win the prestigious US Amateur Championship title in 2006, giving exemption to the Masters, the US Open and the Open Championship.  He also finished 2006 ranked as the World’s No.1 amateur player.
The sponsorship agreement with Metrol Technology will see Ramsay form a partnership with a company whose headquarters are based in his home town of Aberdeen.
Given their global operations in the oil and gas industry, coupled with Richie’s playing schedule across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Metrol Technology saw a natural cross over between the two parties.
Compton Ross, Chief Executive Officer of Metrol Technology, was delighted to be announcing the agreement, and commented: “Metrol Technology is delighted to be sponsoring Richie, who we consider to be an extremely gifted golf professional and a wonderful ambassador for both Metrol and his sport.  We strongly believe Richie will achieve a high level of success and we look forward to a long association with him.”
Ramsay was also pleased to welcome a company from Aberdeen into his portfolio of sponsors.  He added: “I’m really pleased to have Metrol Technology on board as a new sponsor and I look forward to working closely with them over the coming years.  To have support from a company from Aberdeen means a lot to me and I hope that I can continue my good form and provide some great exposure for them.”
The agreement will see Ramsay wearing the Metrol Technology corporate logo on his collar throughout 2012 and 2013.
