NAIRN RETAIN MORAY LEAGUE GOLF TITLE AFTER COUNTBACK

Hosts Nairn Golf Club retained the Moray and Nairn Golf League title but only after a countback of individual results.
Nairn and Moray drew their title decider 4-4 today (Sunday) - the last match on the four-day programme. That meant both clubs finished with 6pt apiece, one ahead of third-placed Elgin.
Nairn's big-margin wins over Nairn Dunbar, and Forres stood them in good stead in the countback.
Results:
THURSDAY - Nairn 7, Nairn Dunbar 1.
FRIDAY - Elgin 2, Moray 6.
SATURDAY - Forres 6 1/2, Nairn Dunbar 1 1/2; Elgin 4, Nairn 4; Moray 5, Forres 3; Nairn Dunbar 3 1/2, Elgin 4 1/2.
SUNDAY - Nairn 6 1/2, Forres 1 1/2; Nairn Dunbar 4, Moray 4; Forres 1 1/2, Elgin 6 1/2; Moray 4, Nairn 4.
HOW THEY FINISHED
Nairn 6pt, Moray 6pt, Elgin 5pt, Forres 2pt, Nairn Dunbar 1pt.
