Scots-born Gary Silcock has worked his way up through the PGA ranks to become Director of Golf at The Belfry.
Now he wants to give some Scots teenagers - perhaps those who have been playing in the Paul Lawrie Foundation Scottish boys' championship at Murcar Links this week, the chance to follow in his footsteps.
Gary told me:
"I am looking for some trainee professionals. I have lost two of the three Scots that worked for me. Blair as you know went to St.Andrews and Brodie MacDonald is on his way to Al Badia, Dubai .
"If anyone wants to work at a four-time Ryder Cup Venue, three courses, Home of The PGA, PGA National Golf Academy and at one of the busiest Golf Resorts in Europe, then this is his (or her) chance.
"The job information is on our website.
"As you know I have more pros here at The Belfry than anywhere else in the UK so it is a great place to do your PGA training. I am also a PGA Tutor in Business management, plus staff here help marking etc.
+Gary Silcock started out as a PGA assistant at Panmure, then Westerwood. He became a quaified at pro at St Andrews, then went to Parque da Floresta Golf Club on the Western Algarve in Portugal.
He had a spell in India as CEO at Aamby Valley, before coming back to Europe to take up a post in Ireland at Palmerstown House and City West Hotel, Dublin.
In 2006, Gary landed the plum job as Director of Golf at The Belfry.
