MAMAT GOES THREE CLEAR IN KUALA LUMPUR MASTERS

NEWS RELEASE FROM THE ASIAN TOUR
Kuala Lumpur, March 10: Singaporean ace Mardan Mamat fired a third round four-under-par 68 to open up a three-shot lead at the PGM-CCM-Impian Masters today.
Mardan, playing on an invite in the RM180,000 (approximately US$60,000) Asian Development Tour event, mixed his card with six birdies and one double bogey to lead over local star R. Nachimuthu and highly rated Dodge Kemmer of the United States.
Japanese Hirotaro Naito carded a 67 to lie in fourth place on 205 at the Impian Golf and Country Club on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur in the season-opening event of the ADT.
Despite playing in his sixth straight event, Mardan showed no signs of fatigue as he returned with a three-day total of 15-under-par 201.
“It was an okay round for me. I was two-under after the turn and the birdies on 10 and 11 kept the momentum going. It could have been a better result if not for the double bogey (15th hole),” said Mardan, who won his third Asian Tour title at the ICTSI Philippine Open last month.
“This is my sixth week in a row and I still feel good. I want to keep on playing because I’m playing so well. You want to keep the momentum going and the results have been showing,” said the Singaporean, who also qualified for his third British Open through qualifying in Thailand last week.
Senroku Isa of Japan and Neil Reilly of England returned with a 68 and 72 respectively to share fifth place on 206 while Malaysia’s Danny Chia was a further shot back after posting a 69.
