WEBSTER, PIRIE SHARE MIDLAND ALLIANCE AT WINDY STRATHMORE
Club professionals Alastair Webster (Edzell) and Pitlochry's Mark Pirie shared first prize with one-under-par rounds of 71 in very windy conditions for today's Midland Golfers' Alliance competition at the Strathmore Golf Centre, Alyth.
They finished a shot ahead of leading amateur Gary Tough, the Edzell scratch player.
The handicap section resulted in a three-way tie with net 71s between John Breen (Kirkcaldy) (14), Maurice Arnold (Kirkcaldy) (12) and John Rankin (Scotscraig) (7).
Last week's Midland Alliance at Carnoustie was cancelled because of the weather.
