SIMON DYSON HAS RYDER CUP PLACE IN HIS SIGHTS FOR 2012

FROM THE BBC SPORT WEBSITE
York golfer Simon Dyson has set his sights on a place in Europe's Ryder Cup team as one of his targets for 2012.
The 34-year-old will end the current year 16th in the Ryder Cup points list, and 28th in the world rankings.
He told BBC Radio York: "I think I've improved from last year and if I can just keep doing what I'm doing, then I've got a very good chance.
"I'm not going to beat myself up about it trying to get in it, I'm just going to let my golf do the talking."
Dyson just missed out on a place in the 2010 European team.
"I was very close last year. I did well in the USPGA and then I came back to the Czech Republic and I've got to be honest, I should have won that with the golf I played, " he said.
"I just got little bit unlucky on a few holes coming in and if I'd won that I'd have had a chance of making it.
"I finished about fourth there and then I went to Glenneagles and had to win to get in the team and I finished fourth again. So I pushed it really hard and it was a shame."
Dyson added: "If I keep playing how I have done for the last three months, if I don't get in it, they'll have a very strong side. If I do, fantastic.
"It's not really about the money for me. It's about trying to achieve as much as I can.
"I've had six wins (on the European Tour) now which is pretty good."
The Ryder Cup takes place from September 28 to 30 next year at the Medinah Country Club, Chicago - a course originally designed by Aberdonian Tom Bendelow who emigrated to America in the late 19th Century.
